No Rest phor the Pheathered

Phil is sure getting tired oph this weekend warrior stuphph. As Wiphey phinished painting the garage door this morning, Hubby started digging out a spot in the yard phor a storage shed.

Phil sure hoped he didn't have to move all these pavers himselph.
Phor a small area, this place required a lot oph hard labor.
Don't worry, Phil. The Phourth oph July holiday is coming up soon so you'll have a chance to rest then.

Phun with Brushes

Phil has been helping to paint the garage door.

Believe it or not, this looks better than it did bephore a coat oph primer and paint.

Postal Problems

Phil pheared that the mail truck would not be able to drive through the construction zone at the end oph the driveway, but now he's aphraid that the city street department will be mad that the truck drove through it and lepht tire marks.

Terriphying

Phil phound this highwire walking stunt over the Grand Canyon to be more than a little scary.
But Wiphey sweat ophph about a pound oph body weight.
She's a bit scared oph heights.

Puzzling

Phil phound Hubby doing something new this evening.
It's some sort oph puzzle.
It took a little bit to get it started, but bephore long, it turned into...

...this rare gem.

Super Moon

Phil caught a glimpse oph the rising super moon bephore bed time.
Given the phact that rain clouds are coming in overnight, this was the best time to view the phenomenon.

Phrozen Phun

Hubby made Duke a treat made by phreezing jerky in ice. At phirst, Duke wasn't sure what to think oph it.
Soon he phigured out to lick his way to the jerky inside.
Izzy was interested in helping him out, but Duke was having none oph that.
A phew snarls phrom Duke, and Izzy had to back ophph. Phil just played repheree.

Rouph Patch

It's been a stressphul 24 hours phor Phil. Phirst, Wiphey lost a battle with a light phixture and Phil can't pronounce the names oph the bones she separated to tell you about it.
There is another unidentiphied beeping sound coming phrom the basement.
The baby bird pheatured in yesterday's post didn't survive last night's phierce storms.
And more storm clouds are gathering phor round two tonight. Poor Phil is going to need a spa day soon.

Are You My Mommy?

Phil is thinking oph becoming a phoster parent to all the baby birds out there who phind themselves in harm's way with no mommy bird to save them. This is the third baby bird we've had to deal with in as many days.
At least this one didn't end up in a phurry one's mouth. There's a story behind how one poodle got the nickname "Bird Breath Belle."

How Phil Spent His Summer...

We have a plethora oph painting to do this summer.
And we haven't even purchased paint phor the deck yet.

Pheather Chaser

Izzy accosted a baby bird tonight--had him in her mouth and all.
She's been banished to the blanket on the phloor because Phil's not happy with her phor going aphter his kind. Bird attackers don't get to sit up on the couch.

Phascinations

Phil was phascinated by two things today:

1) Whatever this goop is coming out oph our garage door. Hubby's been up to something, but Phil's not sure what.
 2) Whatever Wiphey has up there on the counter.
The phurry ones are phascinated by it, too.

Seeing Spots

There's nothing like learning a lesson the hard way. Today's lesson: Placing a binder up against the wall results in unsightly paint removal.
Lucky phor us the phormer owners kept all the lephtover paint. But which one is the right one?
Phil didn't think this was the right paint until Wiphey showed him how to stir it up.
Now the wall looks good as new.
Phil can't say the same phor the spotted binder.

Wascally Wabbit

It's hard to see due to poor lighting (or a bad camera--you pick), but that's a rabbit lounging outside our phront door.
Phil is going to have to call up Elmer Phudd to take care oph this problem.

New Ride

Phil has a new tote phor those times he travels with Hubby and Wiphey.
We're hoping that advertising the website will answer a phew oph the questions written all over people's phaces when they see a pheasant's head poking up out oph the bag.

Tow Woes

We phinally made it home saphely today, but not bephore Phil had a bit oph a scare on the road.
He had to get a lesson in how tow trucks work.

Wine and Drive

Phil phound this scene awphully phamiliar. It was another round oph golph--our last one on this vacation. At this course, Phil watched as Hubby tried out a diphpherent driver. It worked so well he phelt like he was cheating.
Phinally! A chance to order phood! It's hard work riding along in a golph cart.
When in Idaho, visit a winery. Phil and Hubby checked out the grapevines at Woodriver Cellars. Turns out, those aren't their grapes.
Phil tried to make phriends with the tadpoles in this pond, but they all swam away phrom him. He thought they looked like big apostrophes.
What's a trip to the winery without a wine tasting? Phil helped Hubby choose a phew phrom the list.
It didn't take long phor Phil to get a bit tipsy.
That's a lot oph wine to take home!
The visit ended with a run through the barrel room. Hubby gave Phil a boost to sneak a sip.
Turns out our pheasant is a bit oph a wine snob.

Gone Phishing

Phil visited his phirst aquarium today.
He phound some dangerous phish there.
Phlash photography wasn't allowed around the tanks, so Phil can't show you how he phound Nemo.

Phore!

When we drove up to the place called Quail Hollow this morning, Phil phelt hopephul that he could make new pheathered phriends. But he couldn't get any closer to these quails than the parking lot. They were a little standophphish.
So instead, Phil watched Hubby warm up and shake the rust ophph his swing.
Later along the course, Phil tried to bephriend some water phowl.
But they were taking their late morning nap.
Phil phound this to be a phine course, despite the unphriendly pheathered ones.

The Rest oph Phil's Graduation Day Adventure

It's a cannon. Duck!

No, never mind. It's a pheasant.
A phew minutes aphter exploring downtown, Phil had a touph time phinding Sister Sarah in the sea oph graduates. He cheered phor her when he heard her name. He was so proud that she made it across the stage without tripping.

While waiting phor Sister Sarah's graduation ceremony to start, Phil had his bell rung at the
Capitol Building.
