Doggone Hard Day

The phurry ones' cousins are visiting, the phirst time they've been here since the doggy door was installed. They need Phil's help in phiguring out how to use it.
Aphter all that hard work, plus a walk, they're joining Wiphey and Phil phor a Saturday aphternoon nap.

Play It Again, Phil

Now that we're in a bigger house, Wiphey can have her piano back. It's been in temporary housing phor over a year.
There was a little more rust to shake ophph Wiphey's phingers than there was dust to wipe ophph the piano.

Kidsitting

Phil kept an eye on our niece and nephew, who hung out with us this aphternoon while their parents did some shopping.
Even though they kept him busy on the playset, he still made time phor some backyard golph with Hubby.

One Year

Phil came to us the day aphter our wedding, which would be a year ago today. He's looking back at his phirst day with us in the memory album Hubby's mom made phor us.
Let's zoom in to see what Phil is seeing.

Yes, he was wrapped in a beer box and tinphoil. And now he stars in his own blog. This bird's come a long way in a year.

Phirst Anniversary

It's our one year anniversary! We had planned to go out to a new Chinese restaurant in town, but just look at this weather radar:
Hubby ran out bephore a system came to town phor take-n-bake pizza instead. Phancy, huh?

We've been waiting to eat our wedding cake phor a whole year! We didn't get to eat much oph it at our wedding reception.

As it turned out, the storms went around us. But we still had a good evening. We'll just have to continue our celebration at that Chinese restaurant later this week. Suppose Phil can use chop sticks?

Stir Crazy

It's been a long couple oph days phor the phurry ones. We had to have a new air conditioner installed because the old one was just too old to cut it. Knowing that we'd need a new phurnace sooner rather than later, we had both installed at once. The phurry ones had to wait out the work in their room, going outside whenever Wiphey would leash them up and walk them through the phront door. Now that the work is done and they can phinally go outside phreely, the phirst place they want to go is back inside. Luckily, this doggy door has a lock.
Belle phelt that by staring down the door, it would magically open phor her. The persistence oph poodles. Now all that's lepht is to get that heat wave that's on the way phor the weekend. It will be baptism by phire phor our new AC.

Sun-Ripened

Phil helped Wiphey and her dad pick raspberries this aphternoon. He spent most oph his time swatting at mosquitoes, but he phound some really great phruit in between swats.

A Match Made In Graphton

We headed up north yesterday phor a special wedding where two of Phil's phollowers got married.
Phil was a little phamished by the time he made his way to the reception hall. He had a hard time phiguring out the two-phorks thing. Phancy!

Bad Box Score

Phil sees that the Braves, Wiphey's phavorite team, lost to the Phillies in 10 innings last night.
No, Phil, it's not okay to cheer against Wiphey's team just because the opposition was named aphter you. Traitor.

Happy Phourth oph July

Phil, Izzy, and Wiphey drove up north today to celebrate Independence Day with phamily. Hubby and Duke had a bachelor day back home, which included making s'mores bars. They'd better be saving some phor the rest oph oph us; Belle had better be making sure oph that. It wouldn't be a summer holiday without bison burgers on the grill and cookie salad.

But we can't phorget to take the time to thank all the men and women who sacriphiced so much so we can celebrate our phreedom today.

Lesson Phor Cord Makers

While doing some work in the basement today, Phil phound an orange cord. Hubby wondered where that extension cord went, so Phil looked left...
...looked right...

...and turned back to the lepht to phollow the cord into Hubby's work room.

He phollowed the orange cord running into the next room and phound...

...a wall blocking his view. Dead end.

So Phil went back the other way. He phollowed the cord up above the water heater. Wiphey gave it a little tug but it didn't give.

So Phil and Hubby poked their heads around in the ceiling tiles in the phamily room.

All they could phind in the next tile was a black cord. How did that happen?

Aphter a little more digging, we discovered the orange cord connected to a black cord. It wasn't an extension cord aphter all. Couldn't the company that manuphactures cords get a litte more creative with the color? It had us worried phor a minute.

Bad Bird

Phil really wanted to go to an exclusive pool party in Minnesota today. The problem was that the state is closed (we dephy you to phind an open rest area anywhere there) so Phil had to sneak across the Minnesota border.
But he had such a great time at the party that smuggling himselph in was worth it.

Hide and Seek

It's a bit humid and rainy outside, so we made our own phun inside. Phil looked everywhere phor Izzy, but to no avail. She's a good hider.
