Phun Times in the Phorks

We headed up north phor a day trip to see some of Wiphey's phamily today. Here, Phil helps the women pholk put together a puzzle. It's harder than it looks because the image is a holograph and changes depending on how the pieces are held. Phil was phast to join the Play Doh phun.
He became Wiphey's muse.
See? Mini Phil.

Let's Try This Spring Thing Again

Now we know Mother Nature's all conphused. Yesterday around phive o'clock, she gave us rain, sleet and a thunderstorm. Snow phollowed shortly aphter. That's phour seasons of weather all in one day.
This morning we woke up to phive inches oph snow. Can't blame Phil phor not wanting to venture outside.
Wiphey has a snow day ophph. But how is she spending that day? Grading papers.

Why Phil Believes Mother Nature is a Bully

Phil's reading a special weather statement that says that we could be in phor lots of rain and snow this week. He's miphphed with Mother Nature phor two reasons: 1) It's spring now. 2) More moisture means a bigger phlood.

Bad News and Worse News

The bad news is that a crater* developed just at the end oph our driveway during the day yesterday.
Even worse is that the crater will soon become crater lake with all the rain that's phalling today. And no phlood phighters want to see rain.
*Wiphey was a little nervous about placing Phil in the crater; she had visions oph the earth sinking into a deep abyss beneath him and never seeing her little birdy buddy ever again.

Phind Robin

Wiphey spotted the phirst robin oph the season in this tree. By the time Phil got there, the robin was gone. He waited and watched phor a long time to see iph he could spot the bird.
And then Phil heard Robin way up in the evergreen tree. Next we'll expect to see a white dove with a phig leaph in its beak. It means our phlood phears are over.Side note: Notice the big gaping hole in our neighbor's backyard? It's a good thing they put up that phlimsy snow phence or else somebody might phall in.

Dear Shoe Makers

Phil is breaking in Wiphey's new shoes.
Iph it were up to her, they'd be a lot cuter and shinier. But her physical therapist has sentenced her to a liphetime of athletic phootwear. So, shoe makers, who's going to step up and make them in designer colors?

Things We Wonder About the New House

What is that icky stuphph on the phront door?
What kind oph car gets powered by potatoes? And why would someone waste phour screws to hang this thing up on the garage wall?

Snowy Sunday

It's another snowy day. Big surprise. Phil longs to phrolic outside on the playset that came with our new house, but instead he's just going to have to stay inside...
...and help Hubby phix the railing again.
There will be time for phrolicking outside later, Phil. With a shovel.

Phinally On the Road Again

Phil was excited to get in the car and hit the road this morning. We wanted to meet the new nephew and see his big brother and sister. It was a great way to spend Hubby's birthday.
But aphter playing Ring Around the Rosy...
...and acting as a phootball,

Phil was one tired bird.

What We've Been Up To

Phil watches a newscast showing Wiphey and her students helping to phill sandbags phor our big phlood phight. That's her at the end of Phil's beak, wearing the bright vest (a teacher's perk!) and black hat. Hubby was doing that work the day bephore. Or so he says; Phil hasn't seen any televised evidence.
