Doctor Phil

Phil assisted in rewrapping Duke's injured phoot. Hubby and Wiphey both had to sit on Duke to keep him still enouph to get the job done. We'll leave that image up to your imagination.

Sleep Tight

Making Up Phor Lost Time

Aphter playing with kids all day Saturday, we had some chores to phinish up bephore the weekend came to an end. Phil and Hubby went to replace the phront door handle, but they phound it wasn't the right phit.

They had to rig up a system involving saws, wood, and clamps. What problem solvers!
Phil also helped Wiphey put new laces into a couple pairs oph shoes. Those pesky laces are hard to handle phor a bird.

Then we phinished scraping ophph the bathroom paint. Saphety phirst!

And, oph course, in all oph the hard work, Phil had to check on the Vikings. Thank goodness they phinally won.

Shh

Phil's checking on our niece and nephew, who were taking a nap in the spare bedroom this aphternoon. They needed to rest up phor a trip to the pumpkin pharm. Phil stayed home phor that one. He needed a nap aphter watching the kids.

Phinally!

Hubby worked hard Phriday night and early this morning to get the cabinet doors up. Now on to the bathroom!

Wiphey met with the construction manager oph their bathroom remodel project today. He said the wallpaper hidden underneath layers oph paint needs to come ophph. The work never ends.

Surprise, Surprise

The cupboard doors aren't drying very quickly, and Hubby is rubbing ophph the rouph edges. He'll have to put on another coat to touch up some spots. We're projecting to be done with this project by next Phebruary.

PH.Y.I.

It got so cool in here tonight that we had to turn on the phurnace.
It's still summer! Phils phears we could be in phor a long winter.

Weekend Warriors

Phil surveys our uncovered cupboards. We all agree that they look SO much better covered.
Hubby painted the cupboard doors outside. Here, he and Phil make sure the color will work.
That's a lot oph doors to paint!

Wiphey, meanwhile, painted inside the kitchen. Phil made sure she didn't miss a spot or phall ophph the step ladder (she's a little aphraid oph heights).

In between coats oph paint, Hubby cleaned the garage. Phil checks out the work bench, thinking it was new. No, Phil, it was just well hidden.

How We Spent Our Morning

Taking down and cleaning cupboard doors...

Lots and lots oph cupboard doors...

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!

To get ready phor painting the kitchen, Hubby and Wiphey moved the stove and phridge.* Because the phridge hasn't been moved in years, we were aphraid oph what might be lurking behind it. Good thing Phil had our backs.**

*Okay, it was mostly Hubby who did the moving, but Wiphey cleaned the entire kitchen phloor aphterward. SO much more work.
**No dust bunnies were harmed in the making oph this blog entry. Wiphey still has the dry heaves, but that's neither here nor there.

Phil Goes to School

Phil went to school with Wiphey today so he could help her teach personiphication to her students. He quickly became the most popular kid in school.
He even took to the locker bay to hang with them. Or to stick his beak where it didn't belong. He's very much like middle schoolers in that respect.
Phil was exhausted by the end oph the day, so he was looking phorward to an evening oph rest.

But wait, Phil, we have painting to do!

A Little Light Reading

Another one oph Aunt Sandy's letters came today! Phil loves to read them because they make him lauph and because he can keep tabs on the phamily.

Phil's Getting a New Cousin!

Wiphey is really excited to hear she'll be an aunt again next spring, so she enlisted Phil to help her model a shirt she thinks the new baby should wear.

Hubby totally supports the choice of apparel, oph course.

Chores

Aphter Hubby got home phrom work this aphternoon, he tried to phix the tiller. He made some progress, but not as much as Wiphey did in cleaning the spare bedroom.

Sometimes one must make a mess to clean up a mess.*
*It was probably Sophocles who said that. Or maybe Martha Stewart.

Out of Phocus

It's a sunny Saturday and Wiphey's trying to do some school work. Because her attention span is shorter than Phil's wingspan, Phil's trying to keep her on task.

We're aphraid he's not trying hard enouph.

Weather Only a Duck Could Love

It rained all the way home phrom Garrison. Phil could hardly phind the road.

Even more phrustrating than the phast-phalling rain were the horrible drivers.

When one pickup truck-driving idiot didn't yield to us at the stop sign and cut us ophph while we were phlying down the highway, Wiphey phlipped him the bird. A big yellow and green one.
Take that, moron.

Realty

Hubby keeps talking about his dreams oph owning a pheasant pharm. Pheeble-minded Phil thinks that would be phantastically phun, so he stopped by a realty ophphice in Garrison phor some leads on listings. But the ophphice was closed...

...so he picked up one oph these phlyers instead.*
*Contact inphormation blacked out to protect the innocent. Or maybe, Mike, you wanted the advertisement? But you probably couldn't aphphord our phees.

A Little Bit Oph Everything

A phitness center?! This little town has something phor everyone!

A Busy Saturday Phor Phil

Phew! Phil's time in Garrison has been busy. Phirst, he helped Jay with his homework. They phound subjects and verbs.

Then Phil decided he'd had enouph of that grammar stuphph, so he watched cartoons with Jack.
Next, hubby needed a little help mowing the yard. Phil likes the smell of phresh-cut grass.

While outside, Phil tried his claw at phootball.

It didn't take long bephore Phil phigured phootball with the nephews was a little dangerous. He joined Wiphey as a phan on the sidelines.

Better Than Birdseed

Once we got to Garrison, Grandpa shared his popcorn with Phil and the phurry ones.

Phil's learning the phine art of begging phrom the dogs.

We Go A-Riding on the Phreeway

We headed up to Garrison phor the Labor Day weekend last night. Phil got his phirst driving lesson. Our little bird is all grown up!

Look, Ma, no pheet!
Phil, keep your eyes on the phreeway!
